For 2026’s Black History month, the Dallas Museum of Art hosted its annual Black History and Culture Celebration featuring an entire day of interactive events, presenters, and exclusive exhibits. The focus of this shoot was to capture each unique activity one by one and focusing on the multitude of the day's diverse attendees. Events included a Pan-African drum circle, guided tours of the African Arts collection, Dallas International Film Festival showcase, academic lectures and closed out with prominent Dallas music band Cure For Paranoia.
There were multiple challenges on this shoot: a variety of lighting conditions, having to capture the energy of live performances, family activities, as well as slower auditorium talks for mature audiences. We coordinated with the program organizers to make sure our team was in place and make sure not a single moment was missed.
